My Little Pony's Story

* Interested in adopting? Please read the dog’s full biography to see whether they may be a good fit for your home, then submit an application at www.dpsrescue.org.
All DPS Rescue dogs are spayed/neutered, up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations, dewormed, flea/tick treated, and microchipped prior to adoption. This dog will be at the Palo Alto Pet Food Express on Saturday, May 16th from 12-3 PM unless adopted prior to the event. To be considered for adoption, please submit an application in advance at https://www.dpsrescue.org/adopt/dog-application/.
Adoption fee: $650
Meet My Little Pony: The Sweet, Spunky Joy-Bringer

My Little Pony is a 4–5 month old puppy with a heart as big as her personality and a face you’ll never forget—complete with one striking light-colored eye that only adds to her charm. She’s the kind of puppy who quietly steals your heart and then suddenly becomes the center of your world. Equal parts playful, affectionate, and independent, Pony is pure happiness wrapped in a soft, wiggly little body.

Daily Routine & Lifestyle

Pony thrives on a predictable routine and has settled beautifully into daily life. Her mornings begin around 7:45 AM with breakfast, followed by playtime—usually an enthusiastic attempt to engage her two resident dog friends (even if they pretend to be unimpressed).

After burning off some energy, she happily naps, recharging for the rest of her day. Lunch is served at 12:30 PM, followed by more play, chewing on her favorite toys, and—of course—more naps. Dinner is at 6:00 PM, and by 10:30 PM, she’s ready for bed.

During the day, Pony relaxes on dog beds in the kitchen area with access to the outdoors when her humans are away. At night, she sleeps soundly in her crate, settling quickly and staying asleep through the night.

Personality: Sweet, Confident, and Full of Joy

Pony is, quite simply, a love. She adores belly rubs, ear scratches, and cozy snuggles, and she has a naturally warm, friendly energy that draws people in. While she may have been a bit whiny during her first couple of days adjusting to a new environment, she quickly found her footing—and now her confidence shines brighter every day.

She’s not overly clingy, but she truly enjoys being around both people and dogs. She’s the perfect balance of affectionate and independent—happy to snuggle up with you, but also perfectly capable of entertaining herself with toys and chew bones.

Her excitement is contagious—especially when it comes to food, playtime, or seeing her dog friends. She even does a little happy wiggle when she’s especially thrilled.

Playful Spirit & Energy

Pony is both playful and energetic, with a fun-loving personality that keeps things lively. She loves toys, chewing, and interactive play, but she also knows how to relax and recharge.

Her zoomies are a highlight—full of bouncy, joyful energy that perfectly captures her spirited nature. Watching her confidently explore the yard or bounce up to her dog companions (even when they try to “correct” her) is endlessly entertaining.

Social Life

Pony lives with two larger dogs and absolutely adores them. She’s persistent in the sweetest way—always eager to play, even when they’re less enthusiastic. Her approach is full of optimism and affection, and she doesn’t let a little grumble slow her down.

She’s also wonderful with people of all ages. She’s been around kids and does great, even in busier environments like gatherings. While she can be slightly hesitant at first in new situations, she warms up quickly and is soon happily engaging with everyone around her.

She doesn’t love being picked up, but she more than makes up for it with her love of snuggling on her own terms.

Training & House Manners

Pony is doing very well with crate training—she may whimper briefly at first, but settles quickly and sleeps through the night without issue.

She’s also a big fan of chewing (in the best way). Providing her with a variety of appropriate chew toys keeps her happy and engaged. Thankfully, she doesn’t show destructive tendencies beyond that.

And if you’re looking for a quiet companion, Pony fits the bill—she rarely barks.

Why You’ll Love Her

There’s something special about Pony that’s hard to put into words—she’s just one of those dogs who leaves an impression on everyone she meets. She’s sweet, spunky, smart, and endlessly lovable.

From her adorable little wiggles of excitement to her soft snuggles at the end of the day, she brings joy in the simplest, most genuine ways.

Whoever brings My Little Pony home isn’t just adopting a puppy—they’re gaining a constant source of happiness, laughter, and love.
