Meet Mustache! 🐾🤎<br/><br/>Mustache is a 3-year-old Shih Tzu weighing about 15 pounds. He is another one of nearly 100 dogs rescued after a massive breeding operation was shut down.<br/><br/>Mustache spent his early life in a breeding environment, so the world outside of that is still very unfamiliar to him. He is scared and not housetrained, and everyday experiences like leashes, household noises, new people, affection, and simply living inside a home may take time for him to understand.<br/><br/>Mustache has done well with dogs, cats, and children, but he will still need a calm and patient family who understands where he came from. Being friendly with other animals does not mean he is ready to jump right into normal home life.<br/><br/>His adopter will need to give him time to decompress, establish a predictable routine, and allow him to build trust at his own pace. There may be accidents. There may be moments when he retreats or becomes overwhelmed. Patience will be incredibly important.<br/><br/>Mustache doesn't need someone expecting a perfect little lap dog on day one. He needs someone willing to show him, one day at a time, that he is safe and that life can be so much more than what he knew before. ❤️An adoption application can be filled out on the DHS website https://www.dekalbhumanesociety.org/adopt. Dog adoption fees are $250.00 for all puppies and adult dogs. Seniors are a donation of choice.<br/>Cats and kittens are minimum donation $50.00
