Murphy's Story

Meet Murphy! This handsome fellow is a fun and exciting 7-year-old Jack Russell mix who is ready to meet his forever family.

Murphy is a real good mix of cuteness, fun and cuddle bug! He is the Bounty of the dog world, ready to soak up any bit of love he can get from his people. While in foster he has blossomed and really shown himself to be a devoted and gentle companion. Murphy packs a lot of warmth, gratitude, and sweetness in his little frame. He gets along fine with his foster dog sibling but is more interested in being with his human. He is completely potty trained and seems to have some good manners although he can get excited and may jump a little. Murphy is also an aficionado of the garbage can! He has a power nose so he will need further training on leave it and understanding that his treats and food is way better than anything in the garbage!

Murphy hasn’t been with cats that we are aware and would be ok with older children (8+ years) or dog savvy children due to his size (13lbs est.) and how he still will jump when excited. Murphy is to be neutered but has already had a dental and the poor guy lost a lot of his teeth. He has adjusted well and eats his food just fine with some soft and kibble to help. He loves to find a good sunbeam to rest and like most of us, he is over the cold! He’s definitely a summer and would love to soak up some rays and have a picnic with his new family.

If you feel Murphy could be a great match for you, please complete an adoption application on our website www.hullshaven.org. Adoption fee is $500 and this includes their core vaccines (DA2PPV, Rabies) deworming, health checks and spay/neuter, as well as any additional vet care required. All finalized adoptions come with a free 6-week trial of pet insurance with Pet Secure.

Hull's Haven Border Collie Rescue's Adoption Policy
For Border Collies, HHBCR has strict guidelines for adopting this breed. Border Collies are extremely high energy, high intelligence dogs. They are known as "The Einsteins of the Dog World". That being said, they are also a breed that has many bizarre and peculiar behaviours. They can be obsessive compulsive, very focused and many have the deep rooted need to herd. They will herd cats, other dogs and children. This can cause a problem in families with small kids. For other breeds, HHBCR will similarly ensure that guidelines are followed suitable for that breed. While each dog has its very own unique personality, one must seriously research the breed before deciding to bring one into their home. For this reason, Hull's Haven will have many questions for any prospective adopter, and reserves the right to refuse anyone deemed unsuitable. HHBCR's adoption fee ($400 for puppies $400 for small breeds, $350 for most medium/large breeds, and $250for se
