Murphy's Story

Murphy is a 16 month old great dane/mastiff/st Bernard mix, neutered weighing 140lbs. He has a lot of typical dane characteristics, couch potato, loves being with his people and loves chew toys. He is house/ crate trained and knows all his basic commands. He walks well with corrective collar, due to his size i feel more in control with him wearing prong collar. He loves people, gets along with female dog we lives with but had not been getting along with other male in home and has become aggressive towards him. He has been willing and will come to us to wear muzzle when needed. He has never shown any aggression towards people or any food aggression. He knows when asked to be gentle, and will take treats ever so gently when asked. A perfect home would be where he would be the only dog, possible with a female dog. He would need an owner experienced in large breeds, not intimated by his size. He is good with kids, unknown with cats but would not recommend small children because of his size/ accidental knock overs, that sort of thing. He is low energy and after 15 to 30 minutes of playing needs to nap. I think he would need further training being around other dogs with his history of aggression towards our male dog in home. This is a write up from his owner which he is still with the owner so if you're interested please no male dogs and fill out an application.
