Muriel's Story

Muriel is about 10 years old, 16 pounds, and one of those dogs who makes you stop for a second because of how gentle she is after everything she's been through.

She came to us as a stray in very rough condition. She was underweight, had a malformed jaw from a prior injury, significant skin issues, and hematomas on both ears. It was clear she had been struggling for a long time without proper care. But even in that state, she was soft with people. No hesitation. No defensiveness. Just a wagging tail and a dog who still wanted to trust.

Since arriving, she's made real progress. She's gained weight, her skin is healing, and she's much more comfortable overall. Her jaw injury has already healed and does not require surgery, though it does give her a slightly unique look. Her ears will always have a puffy appearance from past damage, but she is not in pain and is doing well overall.

And through all of it, her personality has stayed the same. Muriel is a sweetheart. She loves being close to people, whether that's sitting next to you or curling up in your lap if you let her. She has a calm, steady presence and really just seems happy to be part of a safe space.

She does well with other dogs and enjoys their company, especially calmer companions. She also still enjoys going for walks, spending time in the sunshine, and interacting with people. She's not shut down or fragile in spirit, she just has a peaceful way about her.

Muriel isn't looking for anything complicated. A soft bed, a kind person, and a home where she can finally relax and not worry anymore. She's the kind of dog who has clearly lived a hard life, but still chose to stay open. She is amazing, and we know you'll think so too! Interested in this special little girl? Please inquire today!
