Munch's Story

Loves to be with his people. His people should be of a minimum average size (kids over 10) because he has issues with big body awareness, often stepping on feet when walking together. He likes kids but doesn't know his size and can easily topple them. He does not jump. He does not get on furniture. He doesn't care about toys or balls. Navigating steps is difficult for him, and he usually jumps on and off the deck instead of using the three steps. Enjoys being brushed. Behaves well for the groomer. Loves car rides and walks. Has done well at Farmers Market and a festival when walking with no-pull harness with leash clasped in front. Loves other dogs, mostly ignores cats, though will occasionally chase in a non-aggressive way. None of foster family 4 cats fear him and they have been spending more time with the dogs since he arrived.

He does NOT have a soft mouth. He is fed treats like a horse in palm of flat outreached hand. He loves meal time and that is how he got his name, as he was a stray. He is eating a LID, limited ingredient diet (Natural Balance Sweet Potato and Salmon).

He is successfully through his heart worm treatment. His ears have been an issue the entire time in rescue - over 6 months. Hopeful we have rounded the corner because this is the first time with yeast only and no bacteria at a recent culture and still Treating daily for 9 more days. He had a habit of barking at his people when he wants to go outside. Sometimes even after he has been out, done business, had a drink and snacks he will bark. Currently ignoring that behavior and he has started to quiet more quickly.

Munch is currently being foster in the Indianapolis, IN area and is ready for his forever home. A home check is required and Adopter is required to travel to pick up, on approval to adopt.

Complete our adoption application at the following:
https://www.scnewfrescue.org/application.html
