Meet Mucca
Hello! My name is Mucca (pronounced Moo-Kah), which means “cow” in Italian. I’m not sure why my foster parents named me that though, because they always tell me I sound like a dinosaur and snort like a piggie. When they first got me I liked to express my frustration about being in a crate with some, uh, interesting dinosaur noises. But now I realize that the crate is my bedroom and I love being in it! I sleep soundly through the night and home alone, and I’m okay to be crated when you’re home.
I’m estimated to be 10-12 months old. I’m completely deaf but that’s never stopped me and you wouldn’t guess it when you see how well I respond to hand signals. It’s just one small part of what makes me as fearless as I am. My foster mom is a professional dog trainer that specializes in deaf dogs, and my foster brother is also deaf. I wear a special collar with a vibrate function that means to look at my handler for a hang signal or a treat. I know how to sit, down, stay, come, go to my crate, and drop what I’m holding.
I LOVE tug of war and chasing around a rope toy. It’s my FAVORITE! However, because I can be a bit of a bulldozer and sometimes use my mouth when I’m playing, it may be better if I’m in a home with kids 8+ that are dog savvy. I love people though, every stranger is a potential best friend. I live with 2 cats that I like and one of them even lets me play with him, but if I get too mouthy he smacks me and leaves our game. I go on tons of walks with my foster brother and guest dogs that stay in the house for training, and sometimes we hang out training inside together. I go to work with my foster mom and either ignore other dogs or politely sniff them. Once I’m better at listening off leash I’ll have a playdate with a friendly dog to see how my manners are off leash. But for now I’m polite and neutral about sharing space!
Other than tug of war I love getting pets, meeting new people, playing with my Wobbler puzzle feeder, chewing bones, and learning new things for treats. I think I might love food even more than tug, I’ll do just about anything for a piece of kibble. I’m also able to walk on a treadmill!
As you can probably tell, I’m a pretty fun little lady, so I hope you might consider adding me to your family for a bit of spunk and spice in your life!
Whoever adopts me gets a complimentary training session from my foster mom to show everything I’ve learned so far.
