Ms. Heart of Gold Nova's Story

Hi! I'm Nova. <br/><br/>I'm a joyful 3-year-old hound mix with a big heart and an even bigger love for life. I may only have three legs, but don't tell me that means I can't keep up! I love exploring new trails, sniffing every interesting scent, playing with dog friends, and ending the day curled up beside my favourite people.<br/><br/>I am currently living with my foster family in Victoria, BC. but I can travel to Vancouver area and Washington or Oregon if there is a potential adopter for me. My adoption fee is $600 <br/><br/>Adoption Application Link:<br/><br/>https://forms.gle/rh4RkabUr7fYkRDV9<br/><br/>(If not clickable, copy & paste into your browser)<br/><br/>I'm a pretty smart girl, too. I already know Sit, Down, Stay, and Come, and I love learning new things—especially if treats or a stuffed Kong are involved! Positive encouragement brings out my very best, and I'm always happy to work alongside my person.<br/><br/>My nose loves an adventure! Two or three walks a day, a hike, a beach trip, or even a car ride to grab a coffee with you are all exciting to me. As long as I'm included, I'm happy!<br/><br/>When the adventure is over, I know how to relax. I love carrying my squeaky toys around, snuggling up near my people, and sleeping peacefully in my cozy crate.<br/><br/>I bond deeply with the people I love and have done well living with another playful dog. With thoughtful introductions, I'd be happy with a compatible canine companion, or I'd be just as content soaking up all the love as your one and only.<br/><br/>Because I'm a hound, I have a strong prey drive, so I'm looking for a cat-free home. An active family that enjoys adventures and continuing my positive training would be my perfect match.<br/><br/>I've already overcome more than most dogs ever should have to, but I don't dwell on the past. Every day is a new adventure, and I greet it with curiosity, optimism, and a wagging tail.<br/><br/>I'm not looking for a perfect family.<br/><br/>I'm simply hoping for a family who will love me forever.<br/><br/>Could that be you? <br/><br/>Love,<br/>Nova<br/><br/>Age 3 years<br/>Gender Female<br/>Breed Hound Mix<br/>Weight 50 lbs<br/>Height 23"<br/><br/>Features<br/> Affectionate<br/> Intelligent<br/> Playful<br/> Resilient<br/> Loyal<br/> Adventurous<br/> Gentle<br/><br/>Energy Level<br/>Moderately active outdoors, calm indoors<br/><br/>I get along with<br/>Dogs Yes, with thoughtful introductions.<br/>Cats No (strong prey drive).<br/>Kids Has done well meeting respectful older children (12+ recommended).<br/><br/>Personality<br/>Confident, curious, affectionate, patient, and eager to explore new places alongside her people. Nowruz Animal Rescue Group's Adoption Policy
Our Foster-to-Adopt Process At Nowruz Animal Rescue Group, we follow a foster-to-adopt process to ensure that each pet and family are a perfect match for one another. This approach allows both the dog and the adoptive family to adjust and bond before making a lifelong commitment. Step 1: Application Once a pet is listed for adoption, interested families are invited to fill out an online application form. This form includes: Three personal references The name of the veterinarian who will care for the pet Step 2: Application Review & Phone Chat After reviewing the application, we contact strong candidates for a phone interview. This gives us a chance to get to know the family better and answer any initial questions. Step 3: Home Check If the phone conversation goes well, we arrange a home check to ensure the living environment is safe and suitable for the specific pet. Step 4: Meet & Greet Next, we schedule a meet and greet with the dog and the family—either at the home or a secure, neutral location. One or two meetings may be arranged so everyone, especially the pet, has time to feel comfortable. During this time, we also complete reference checks. Step 5: Foster-to-Adopt Trial If the family decides to move forward, the dog begins a foster-to-adopt trial period. We deliver the pet to their new home along with essentials such as: Collar and leash Food and treats Favorite toys We encourage families to stay in touch throughout the transition. If you need support or guidance, we are just a phone call away.
