Mrs. Peacock's Story

Mrs. Peacock entered the Humane Society of Imperial County in late July as a stray, and sadly, no one came to claim her during the required hold period. We welcomed her as a Frosted Face on August 28th. Mrs. Peacock is estimated to be 16 years old and weighs 33 lbs. She is a super sweet, friendly girl who is good with other dogs.

We learned even more about Mrs. Peacock when she went on a 3-day Frosted Field Trip. Her foster mom shared this rave review:

"I can't say enough about this sweet girl - Mrs. Peacock is truly a gem! She settled into our home right away, as if she had always lived here. She seems younger than her estimated age in both energy and personality. Mrs. P has definitely had training and a loving home before. Her manners are superb, she listens so well, and she knows commands (sit, lay, stay, come).

Mrs. Peacock is fully potty-trained. She did great at letting us know when she wants out. She is a foodie and likes to eat. She seems very comfortable with all people, including kids, and she wanted to be petted by anyone we encountered on our outings. We don't have animals at home, but on walks we encountered dogs, and she seemed pretty unfazed.

Mrs. Peacock has a lot of energy, and she walks up to two miles at a time. We walked twice a day in the park, and she enjoyed stopping to smell everything along the way. In addition, Mrs. P loves to play fetch with a ball and to play tug with her toys. She also enjoys riding in the car and did great at the store with me.

Mrs. P was also happy to lay next me for cuddle time and naps periodically during the day. At night, she was up for a little play time with her ball and then ready to go to bed. She especially loved sleeping in our bed. She slept all night and didn't stir until we were ready to get up. She is so mellow and gentle, and she has no reaction to taking food away or toys.

Mrs. Peacock has a lot of love to give, and she is ready to be someone's devoted companion again."

To meet Mrs. Peacock, please email:
placement@frostedfacesfoundation.org
