Meet Mr Wiggles
The embodiment of resilience and charm, Mr. Wiggles is ready to find him home after months of fighting a serious infection in his leg.
Mr Wiggles' recovery has been remarkable, transforming him into a vastly different dog from the one we first met on that warm October day.
Once discovered in a dire state, weighing a mere 25lbs., this extraordinary survivor now boasts a healthy 60lbs., embodying the epitome of a heavenly Hound. He is 5-6 years old and a very tall, strong boy who his foster mom describes as a “small horse!” He is currently in a foster home and the time he has spent there has equipped his foster mom with a deep understanding of his unique needs.
Mr Wiggles will flourish under the care of someone experienced with Hounds. Fellow Hound owners will surely relate to the energetic, stubborn, yet utterly magnificent nature of these dogs, characterized by boundless energy, deep affection, and an insatiable desire to explore and cuddle. His life before rescue was likely as a southern hunting dog, discarded deep in the woods and left to die when he was no longer “useful.”
He can be shy at first, but warms up quickly. Loud, unexpected noises and big banging sounds scare him very much, so a home in a quieter setting would be ideal for this handsome hound!
A companion dog is essential for him, as he thrives in (and is very much used to) the company of a pack. He definitely needs to go home to a house with a dog friend! He also requires a tall, physical fence due to being a flight risk— He can sail over short fences without any issue! We want to stress that a simple walk or two a day won't suffice for Wiggles. He yearns for space to roam, to indulge his senses in the myriad scents of nature, to run freely in a secure yard, and then to repeat this joyful ritual.
Wiggles is a delight and has truly embraced the life of a 'House Hound.’ He is still trying to master house training, and has become great at learning crate training. Considering his six-year stint only outdoors, his progress is impressive and continuous, promising full house training mastery shortly.
Mr. Wiggles stands out as a truly remarkable dog. He deserves only the most amazing home where he will be adored and cherished endlessly with someone who understands his needs and loves him completely.??
