Even though I was very young, those feelings stayed with me. They taught me to be careful… to take my time… to protect my heart.<br/><br/>So when I meet new people, I don’t run up right away.<br/>I might step back.<br/>I might watch quietly.<br/><br/>I need a little time to understand that I am safe.<br/><br/>But please don’t mistake my shyness for distance.<br/><br/>I want love—I just need to feel safe first.<br/><br/>I do love treats (a lot!), and that’s one of the ways to win me over. I’ll come closer, gently, and let you pet me once I feel comfortable.
