Mr. Bigglesworth's Story

Meet Mr. Bigglesworth aka Biggie. He's not a character from Harry Potter but he is pretty magical. He's not really that big (only 48-lb) but he has a heart as big as Texas where he came from. Mr. Bigglesworth was the patriarch of a group of Aussies saved from a hoarding situation in Abilene. He and his dog family spent some time in the shelter there in Abilene before hitching a ride north to their PNW foster homes.

Biggie landed with wonderful family who promised to love him and prepare him for his forever home. He is so easy to love, as he has the softest, most easy-going demeanor. He loves to lounge near his person, lay his head in their hand for pets, and follow them around the house and yard. He is housetrained and well mannered. He doesn’t need to be crated and has been left home alone for short periods.

Mr. Bigglesworth also seems to enjoy going along for the ride, sitting quietly in the car, watching out the window. He has had to learn about house-dog life, after initially being unsure of stairs, slippery floors, and doorways. He’s since figured out he has hit the jackpot and chose his own corner of the couch to occupy as his throne. He loves to play with squeaky stuffy toys and would happily destroy them one by one, ripping out their squeakers and stuffing with glee. He has occasionally picked up a kid's toy without realizing the difference. He is a sensitive guy, so it doesn’t take much to redirect him from inappropriate items.

Biggie loves rolling in the grass, playing with other dogs at the dog park, and sleeping next to the bed. He is learning how to walk on leash politely. He sometimes gets a little excited. He is a middle aged guy at about 7 years old, so he will do fine in a quieter home with someone who can provide moderate exercise. He’s currently in a Portland area foster but we would consider arranging volunteer transport for the right applicant elsewhere in the PNW.

If you are interested in adopting Biggie, please fill out the application on our website at: https://www.westernaustralianshepherdrescue.com/adoption-application.html.

We schedule meet n greets after a completed application which includes a home visit and reference checks.
