Moxie - Sponsored by Casey Johnson's Story
Meet Moxie

A charming little lady with a lovable mix of French Bulldog and English Bulldog traits. Energetic and full of personality, Moxie arrived carrying some challenges in how she interacts with her world. She often uses her mouth to communicate, a habit stemming from not being taught bite inhibition. The mouthing behavior has not been due to true aggression; she simply treats her mouth like a thumb.

Every day, she's making great strides--learning to walk nicely on a leash, displaying polite behavior when entering and exiting her kennel, and grasping the idea of "place." She's also beginning to understand basic commands and is becoming more respectful around other dogs, though this progress takes time. While she can sometimes escalate and mouth quickly, she's learning to calm down and de-escalate.

Currently, she's not suited for a home with children under 15 or with other dogs, but she's making excellent progress on potty training when kept on a strict schedule.

Moxie is a hilarious, affectionate, and playful girl who craves kindness and a best friend. Though she may need a little patience and guidance to become her best self, she truly deserves the world.

Moxie is currently in foster with K9 Solutions, and we are open to a foster-to-adopt arrangement for the right home. Foster-to-adopt adopters must be committed to attending weekly training sessions with her current foster at K9 Solutions while she is in foster care. Continued training after adoption is strongly encouraged to help Moxie maintain her progress and thrive in her forever home.

The shelter is open Monday through Saturday, 11 am - 6pm, Sunday 11 am-4 pm.
