Motley's Story

Motley is a handsome adult male Great Dane with a big heart and an even bigger presence. He came to us as a stray, so his history is unknown, but we’ve gotten to know him well—and he’s shown us just how sweet and social he can be. Motley has completed his behavioral evaluation and is a very friendly, social, and cuddly boy who enjoys spending time with people and soaking up attention. He’s affectionate, people-oriented, and truly thrives when he has companionship.<br/>Life in the shelter has been very stressful for Motley, and he’s hoping for a calm, stable home where he can finally relax and settle in. Once outside of the kennel environment, his loving personality really has a chance to shine. Motley is looking for a home with children 10 and up. He can be sensitive about having his mouth and feet touched, so he’ll need a family that respects his boundaries and handles him gently. When it comes to other animals, Motley is dog selective, so any potential dog siblings should be a good, careful match after proper introductions. His compatibility with cats is still unknown at this time. If you’re looking for a big, affectionate companion who bonds closely with his people, Motley may be the perfect gentle giant for you. Come meet him at Dessin! Open every day from 12-3, no appointment needed.

Dessin Animal Shelter's Adoption Policy
Adoption: You need to submit an adoption application. The link is below. Once approved, we'll schedule an appointment. Spay and neuter: No pet gets adopted without being spayed or neutered. We're part of the solution to the pet overpopulation problem. Ten point behavioral assessment: A formal, ten point behavioral assessment is conducted on each dog to attempt to identify aggression or behavior problems, as well as to learn about the dog's personality. This helps us determine the best type of home for each dog/puppy.
