Rescue is not easy or for the faint of heart. Last night I had the ability t

5/28/26-Moses can’t understand why no one has applied for him! Well, actually people have applied but we are looking for a forever home where he will have doggie siblings! He CANNOT be a one and only! Moses THRIVES on being with other dogs, that is a non-negotiable, and while that might keep him with us a little longer to find his perfect family that’s OK. But if you need someone that will help you take your laundry out of the washing machine and run it around the house…… if you need someone that will destuff a stuffed toy to make sure it’s safe, if you need someone to annoy your other dogs in order to play, if you need someone that makes you go buy heavy duty locks so he can’t escape….Moses is the man for you. Remember, he is 11 months old and he has 11 month old Boxer energy. Lol

5/27/26-Moses is AMAZING as long as he has another dog. He has blended into our pack of 3 boxers seamlessly and we feel he needs to continue that bond with at least 1 other dog. He will be a PERFECT second dog for a home!!

5/24/26-Name: Moses, although some call me “Moses No”. Potty trained: About 95%
Favorite things to do: Annoy our dog Cam as evidenced here (doggie wrestlemania lol)
Favorite things to eat: I have discovered hamburger, I have discovered peanut butter, I like cottage cheese for breakfast, and I like to get any shoes that are left on the ground for me
Perfect home: Somewhere with another dog so that I can play and have a brother or sister. That is a non-negotiable.
Things I have just discovered: sleeping in bed is a good thing. Riding in the car is becoming fun. Going to Home Depot can be fun too.
Am I available?: Absolutely!! Moses has truly come out of his shell.

5/22/26-So today was a kitten shower for the rescue that we Foster cats for and decided to take Moses and see how he behaved. Considering everything he’s been through he was the best boy EVER!!! Everybody came up to see him. He had a pup cup. He was just amazing. Considering all this little guy has been through, I was so happy with how he behaved. He was so good he even got a toy from the brewery. Somebody came up and gave it to him. He loves to lay around relaxed after bouts of play with the dogs.

Comment from his first foster home: “Moses absolutely needs other dogs to play with. He didn’t lay down here more than 5 minutes except over night in the crate.”

5/19/26-Moses is changing DAILY. He has been introduced to our cats and initially he chased them but now he’s like whatever. Would I trust him alone with them yet? No but this is a great indication. We have let him go outside by himself with our male 18 month old Boxer/Boston terrier mix. They are doing a great job together!! He’s becoming more relaxed and showing more of his loving personality and he’s going to be a wonderful addition to a family. Definitely needs to go with another dog. He is learning manners & how to be a dog by being around other dogs. Here he has slipped back on his house breaking most likely due to a new place, all the new smells, new routine etc.

5/17/26-Moses moved today to another foster home as his current one was having a medical procedure. This new foster home has 3 big boxer & boxer mixes (2 males & a female). Moses took correction very well from her alpha female, he went down into submission. Here is update from the new foster mom: We took Moses this morning to foster. We are not going to foster him, our dogs are. He needs to go to a house with another dog because that’s what he craves. He’s already blended in and he’s a sweetheart.

5/12/26-Moses has been doing sooo much better. Still is a ball of energy, but is learning where to direct that energy. He has not had an accident in the house in just about a week which is great. He also is learning to sit on command, the biting and mouthiness is also a lot better. Although you still cannot leave much around the house or he will grab it. Especially towels hanging from the sink or stove. And don’t leave laundry as he will play with it all. His eating is very fast and he needs the fortiflora probiotic supplement put in it or he has very loose stools. I found it funny that when he sees my son’s dogs he goes nuts and wants to play with them, but this morning I was out with him and a woman was walking by with a very small dog and he just sat down and watched them walk by until he could no longer see them, then went back to his business. I was expecting a meltdown trying to go play with him. lol But all in all, he is a very smart dog and can learn anything you’d like him to. He’s very food motivated, and treat motivated, but doesn’t have an ounce of aggression toward it as I can stick my hands in his bowl while he’s eating and he actually stops eating he just looks at me. Good boy!

5/8/26-Moses is getting so much better every day. His foster mom is working with him. He is not having accidents in the house any longer and he’s getting easier every day to handle. She said he is extremely smart.

5/5/26-Here is an update on Moses after 10 days at his current foster home. After about 48 hours of first arriving here, he was very crazy and very mouthy. He was not doing it to be mean or to bite, you can tell he just didn’t know any better. He was quite the handful for a few days as he wouldn’t stop the mouthing and jumping and just all out trying to dominate anything and anyone in his presence. The second you pushed him off or took your foot off the lead, he lunged back at you, mouth all over you. He just had no manners at all and didn’t care what you said or did. But I’m happy to say that all of that is slowly changing. Today he actually was sitting for a treat! I don’t think he’d ever sat before and I don’t mean by command, you just couldn’t even push him to sit or if he did kinda listen it went straight to laying down, then to jumping at you again. I get him out to run at least a few times a day in our fenced yard to get some of that energy out, and also a couple of leash walks. He’s still not happy about a collar or leash as he still tries to eat the leash once in a while, but at first that’s all he’d do, so I’m very happy with his progress. He absolutely needs consistency and to not let him get away with anything, as he knows when to push further if you cut him any slack. He is a very very smart boy and is very adaptable to anything with consistency. He will chew on and/or run with anything he can get to. I am not the type to move everything and get it out of his reach, I’d rather he learn not to do it. Not that there is a lot for him to get, but he even takes the towel off my stove. He thinks it’s all his. He will definitely need someone that is able to get him out to run at least a couple of times a day just to get the energy out. He’s also gonna need someone that will get him in a routine that’s repetitive, at least for now. Being from a puppy mill he also wasn’t potty trained either, that’s still a work in progress, but it’s been a few days now since he has gone to the bathroom inside, so I think he’s finally catching on.

5/1/26-Moses may be cute as a button boy but he is VERY high energy young boxer boy with no manners at all. He jumps up at you, play nipping you for attention & non stop wanting to play with any other dog he is with to point of annoying them. He is in the “out of control bratty boy” stage & definitely needs someone with an alpha personality & to immediately get him into training to learn manners. If he’s with only an older dog he will very likely drive them crazy. He definitely is a handful and is a very unruly boy but he is not mean boy. For all these reasons we also feel he will not be good with younger kids or someone who works all day.

4/25/26-Moses left this morning on his ride to his next foster home in Connecticut and as the saying goes, he’s come a long way baby ! He’s loving car rides, gets in and out of the van with a little encouragement, walking into the vet with a collar and leash and doing very well at that, getting into a routine of going outside to do his business, being more respectful of other dogs, crate training, and he is very much a TV watcher. His favorites at the moment are Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy. Lol The bottom line, he has done an amazing job going from a breeder environment to living in a real home and getting love and attention on a regular basis. What this guy needs the most is a routine, learning his boundaries (clothes in the laundry basket are not considered toys) and learning that being loved and petted are now gonna be part of his regular life.

4/18/2026 Moses is a 10 month old boxer from a closed down puppy mill as he just got too old to sell. He was picked up at the breeders and transported to his temporary foster home to get updated on all of his shots and to be neutered. He’s an excellent rider in the car but is totally upset with wearing a collar and trying to walk on a leash. That’s to be expected since he’s never ever been exposed to those two things. His first three days here were interesting as a lot of time was spent with this little critter transitioning him to going potty outside, to tolerating a collar and a leash and learning some social skills on how to interact with other dogs. His exuberance as a 10 month old boxer puppy was a little over the top, but as he met other dogs, it was toned down. He will be neutered on Wednesday 4/22 and go to his actual foster home on Saturday the 25th.
