Morgan Airedale Terrier & Treeing Walker Coonhound Mix Prineville, OR

Have you ever met an "Aire-Walker"? Well, Morgan is a darling almost 2-year-old Aire-Walker (DOB 4/21) that didn't make the "cut" as a hunting dog and boy, are we glad. Aire-Walkers are a breed mix of Airedale Terrier (mom) and Treeing Walker Coonhound (dad) and are typically used for hunting because they are "driven and aggressive". Morgan isn’t aggressive towards others and was being picked on by the other pups, so he was sold as a pet, "just a dog." Morgan has been living on a ranch since then with his loving owner, a 5-year old Aussie male, and has done well with both small and large dogs - male and female. He really enjoys the dog park, and he is an easy to care for boy that does well at the groomer.

Although Morgan loves all things “outdoors”, some of his favorite activities are puzzle toys, curling up on a couch with a person, playing in a digging pit, having fun with other dogs, and he is currently enjoying Nosework classes. He is reliably housetrained, he does not display separation anxiety, but if left for long periods of time will find something to entertain himself, like shredding his soft bedding or stuffy toys, so safe containment either outside or in a kennel will be just fine for him. He is crate trained. He doesn't destroy or shred other soft items.

Morgan wants to chase cats and chickens; this is mainly why he is looking for the perfect 'non ranch’ and cat-free home. So far, he hasn't chased horses and donkeys, but does seem fascinated by goats, so maybe the ranch life just isn't his cup of tea! Morgan is treat motivated and will be a breeze with his basic training. He pulls a bit on leash, but the nose halter has worked well with him. He would make an excellent outdoor exercise partner! He likes car rides, laying by the warm fire, and snoozing on the porch. Morgan may be too enthusiastic for small children, so dog savvy older kids might be a much better fit.
