Moose's Story

*** AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION, FOSTER, or FOSTER TO ADOPT ***

Meet Mr. Moose! He is currently in our P.A.C.K. Program, a 9-week intensive program for routine obedience, agility, and handling training with a prison inmate trainer and he is almost ready to show off his new skills! His new abilities include 'sit', 'wave', 'pray' and more! New adopters should realize that PACK Program graduates will require regular, ongoing reinforcement of learned behaviors in order for them to become permanent.

Moose has previously lived harmoniously with multiple cats, kids, and dogs. He is full of energy and zest, making him the perfect companion for an active household. He gets the cute zoomies when he's outside.

Moose would thrive in a home with a large backyard or even some land where he can run freely. Given his occasional loudness, he's better suited to a house rather than an apartment. He needs a space that allows him to express his energetic nature without restrictions.

He gets a bit nervous inside the home with loud noises. He really thrives when he's outside. Ensuring he has a solid outlet for his energy throughout the day will help keep him happy and healthy. He does well and is quiet in his kennel when people are away. If he's not in his kennel, he gets quite anxious and tends to be a little loud.

Whether it's through long walks, playtime in the yard, or adventurous hikes, Moose will be the loyal and lively companion you're looking for. He'll graduate towards the end of May, apply to meet him today!

Black Dog Animal Rescue's Adoption Policy
BDAR considers pet adoption to be a privilege and that good pet owners can demonstrate a history of responsible practices. Our basic requirements are as follows: Adopters must be at least 18 years of age Adopters’ current pets must be current on their rabies vaccination per local ordinances Adopters must be able to provide a current veterinary reference if they own other pets or have recently owned pets If the adopter rents, they must be able to provide a landlord reference stating that pets are allowed on the property Adopter cannot intend for the animal to be kept as an outdoor only pet, or for the primary mode of containment to be tethering Adopters must be a good match for the animal in question as determined by our adoption counselors Our adoption fees includes spay or neuter, current age appropriate vaccinations, microchip with lifetime registration, a free first vet exam, and 30 free days of pet health insurance. A note about our adoption fees: BDAR utilizes a variable pricing structure for all of its adoptable animals. Adoption fees are determined based on an animal's perceived desirability, age, training or medical investment, and the length of time they have been available for adoption. Some animals are priced higher than others. These animals' adoption fees provide a legacy gift for others in the program who may need additional resources in order to get the same chance in a forever home.
