Moose's Story

Meet Moose – a big handsome Mastiff Mix with an even bigger personality! Moose’s favourite things in life are food, playtime, long walks, and soaking up every bit of attention he can get from the people he knows and trusts.

Moose is a large, strong dog who is looking for a very special home with someone who has large breed experience and confidence handling powerful dogs. He would do best in an adult-only household or one without small children.

Moose can be reactive and wary when meeting new people, so he is searching for an experienced adopter who understands dog behaviour, can provide clear boundaries, and is committed to helping him feel safe and secure. Moose will require slow introductions and several meet-and-greets with any potential adopter to help build trust and ensure the right match. With patience, structure, and the right guidance, Moose has so much potential to thrive.

Behind that big exterior is a sweet, affectionate, and loyal companion who is ready to form a deep bond with his trusted person and shower them with love. If you’re an experienced dog handler looking for a devoted best friend, Moose may be your perfect match. Apply to adopt Moose here https://allistonhumane.com/dog-adoption-form-1

Alliston & District Humane Society's Adoption Policy
The animals for adoption are available on our website to view. https://allistonhumane.com/ The first step is the completion of an adoption application: https://allistonhumane.com/about-adoption. Applicants are assessed on the basis of their application and the needs of any specific animal. Meet and greets are set up to see if we have a match. We encourage the entire family to attend these meets, as well as other pets such as dogs. We can be overwhelmed with applications for individual dogs and you may not receive a return phone call if this is the case. If you wish to come and see animals with a private appointment, please call 705-458-9038 and leave a message on our adoption line. We also hold an open house the last Sunday of every month from 1-4pm. Please check our website for more information.
