Moon's Story
How Moon arrived:Moon was brought in by a community member on March 20, 2026. Why Moon is the one for you:Moon is a striking and soulful companion who is ready to orbit into the right home at his own steady pace. This unique boy has a calm and independent spirit, often content to march to the beat of his own lunar rhythm while still enjoying being near his people. With his mesmerizing eyes and thoughtful personality, he is the kind of dog who reveals his charm little by little, like phases of the moon slowly coming into view. He has already shown he knows cues like sit, down, and shake, especially when tasty treats are involved, and he enjoys leisurely walks where he can stop and sniff the world around him. Moon prefers a gentle and respectful approach when it comes to interaction, as he can be a bit shy and values his personal space. Once he feels comfortable, he will quietly seek out connection in his own way, even leaning in for back scratches when he trusts you. He is very food motivated when it comes to the right flavors and does best with strong-smelling meals that keep him interested. While he can be vocal in his kennel, he settles when given attention and does much better in calmer, low-stress environments where he can relax and feel secure. Life with Moon means embracing a companion who is a little mysterious, a little stubborn, and completely one of a kind. He enjoys moderate activity, short adventures, and a cozy place to rest afterward, making him a great match for someone who appreciates a more independent partner. Because he may not hear well, he will benefit from visual cues, patience, and a consistent routine to help him navigate the world confidently. For someone willing to meet him where he is, Moon is ready to be a steady and loyal presence in your life. Please bring a leash and collar when adopting. At SDHS:Moon has been vaccinated, microchipped and neutered. Primary Color: Black Secondary Color: White Weight: 81.5lbs Age: 5yrs 1mths 3wks Animal has been Neutered
