Monty- Medical Foster's Story

Meet Monty!

Monty is a roughly 1-2 year old America Bully, he arrived to Mississauga Animal Services as a stray that was never claimed and is now ready to find his forever home. He has since been neutered, microchipped, dewormed and fully vaccinated with Rabies, Dhhp and Bordetella.

Meet our sweet boy, a dog with a heart far bigger than his challenges. Hes the kind of companion who melts into your side for cuddles, greets familiar people with a wagging tail, and finds joy in the simple things sunny spots, gentle walks, and being close to the people he loves.

Unfortunately, due to poor genetics, he is already showing early signs of hip dysplasia at a young age. While this does mean he will require lifelong joint support and mindful care to help prevent early onset arthritis, it does not stop him from being a loving, happy dog who deserves a family just as much as any other.

His ideal home will understand the importance of preventative care and long-term management. This includes maintaining a healthy weight, providing appropriate low-impact exercise, using joint supplements and veterinary support as recommended, and ensuring he has a comfortable environment where his body is not overstrained. In return, youll gain a deeply loyal companion who asks for little more than patience, understanding, and love.

He may not be the dog for someone looking for a marathon hiking partner or an intense agility prospect, but he absolutely could be the perfect match for someone wanting a devoted best friend to share quiet adventures, cozy evenings, and everyday life with.

We know there is a special person or family out there willing to see beyond his medical needs and recognize the incredible dog underneath. He deserves a future filled with comfort, compassion, and stability and we are hopeful that the right home will give him exactly that.

Monty has tested well with other dogs while at the shelter but can be a but ill mannered and he is still learning some of his basics. He would likely do well with kids aged 10+ in the home, but he has not been cat tested.

If you are interesting in giving Monty his new forever home please contact Mississauga Animal Services at (905)896-5864 opt 3 to book an appointment.
