Monte Beagle Mix Palatine, IL

When you first see Monte, you might think, “Wow, those are some big ears!” and you’d be right. They are adorably big ears and they match his charming, outsized personality. Monte is a 1 ½ year-old Beagle mix who is learning the ropes of family life. At his foster home, he is a playful cuddle bug. He loves playing with his canine foster-brother and then when he’s tired, he enjoys snuggling with humans for a nap.

Monte LOVES tasty treats, so he works very hard at mastering his manners. He is starting to pace by the door when he must go outside, and he’s becoming more comfortable being left alone in his crate. He doesn't do this often, but he briefly howls like a seal when first crated or when he sees a neighborhood pup he wants to befriend. He’s not a Beagle/Seal mix, we promise!

Because Monte has a good amount of energy and likes to chase small beings, we suggest a home without cats, small animals, or little children (he might knock them over).

Even though Monte is small, he has a big personality that is next to impossible to not fall in love with. The only thing larger than his ears is his heart. Someone will be lucky indeed to take him home forever.
