Monkey's Story

Meet Monkey, an adorable 4.5-year-old Shih Tzu/Poodle Mix who weighs 16.8 pounds. This sweet girl is the total package—house-trained, crate-trained, and full of love. She started out sleeping in her crate at night and did wonderfully, but when given the option, she happily chose to curl up on her foster’s bed instead.

Monkey is an active, playful girl who loves running around the yard and enjoying her toys. She’s done well with another small dog and would likely enjoy having a canine companion. She thrives when she gets a daily “adventure,” whether that’s a walk around the neighborhood or a ride in the car—without it, she can get a little stir-crazy.

Monkey hasn’t been exposed to young children or cats in her foster home, but she has done well around teenagers. Like many young dogs, she still has some puppy habits such as jumping or gently nibbling for attention, so she’ll do best in a home with kids past the toddler stage. She already knows “sit” and “down” and is currently working on “come” and “stay.”

One of Monkey's adorable quirks is she communicates by bringing you a shoe! Whether she wants to go outside or is trying to get someone’s attention, she’ll gently deliver a shoe—never chewing it, just using it as her way of “talking.” It’s as cute as it sounds and is guaranteed to make you smile.

Her foster mom describes her as a super sweet, loving, and cuddly girl. While Monkey can have bursts of high energy when she’s excited, she settles down nicely and is just as happy soaking up affection.

If you’re looking for a fun, affectionate companion with a little personality and a lot of heart, Monkey might just be your perfect match. Her minimum adoption fee is $400 plus a $15 fee, if 4 months or older, for rabies registration for McLean County residents.

She has been spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, heartworm checked, dewormed, and is on flea and heartworm preventatives.

For information about this dog's breed(s), visit:
http://www.dogbreedinfo.com/abc.htm

To fill out our adoption application, go to:
http://fs16.formsite.com/WishBoneCanineRescue/adoptionapplication/index.html
