Mona Lisa's Story

Mona Lisa may be the quieter pup of her litter, but don't let her initial shyness fool you. This beautiful girl has a truly sweet soul, and once she decides she can trust you, she wants to be right by your side and learn all about your world. She is the kind of puppy who will quietly follow her person from room to room simply because being with you is where she wants to be.

Mona Lisa is a little shy when experiencing something new, but she warms up incredibly quickly, sometimes within seconds with the help of treats. New sounds, places, and experiences are still unfamiliar to her, so her confidence will continue to grow with gentle exposure, patience, and positive experiences. She isn't an overly obnoxious puppy and takes correction beautifully. When she is shown what is expected of her, she listens and immediately tries to do the right thing. She genuinely wants to please her person.

This girl is also incredibly smart. She is picking up basic obedience very quickly and is proving that she is eager to learn. She is currently working on potty training and learning all about leash training. She is making progress and will thrive with continued positive training, consistency, and structure.

Mona Lisa has been wonderful with the other dogs in her foster home and has also done well with cats. She doesn't mind the resident parrot either! She is just beginning to discover how much fun playing can be, but she isn't the type of puppy who charges into another dog's personal space or plays too roughly. She has even been respectful of the grumpy Chihuahuas, which makes us think she could do well with smaller dogs who appreciate a more polite canine companion.

Mona Lisa is going to grow into a very large dog, so her future family should understand the commitment that comes with raising an XL puppy. Training, socialization, structure, and continued confidence-building will be especially important as she grows.

Mona Lisa may take a moment to look at something new and decide whether she is brave enough to try it, but give her a little encouragement and she is ready to learn. She is gentle, incredibly smart, eager to please, and deeply devoted once she trusts you.

She isn't the puppy who needs to be the center of attention. She just wants to know where her person is and then she'll happily follow them there. This sweet girl has so much potential, and watching her confidence blossom is going to be something very special.

Est DOB 5/21/26
