Molly's Story

Meet Molly – Professional Shadow, Snuggle Expert, Aspiring Best Friend

Meet Molly, an 8-month-old Australian Shepherd mix who apparently didn’t get the memo about the whole “Aussies are tiny tornadoes of energy” thing. This girl’s superpower is chill. Her favorite hobby is following her foster dad from room to room like a very fluffy, very devoted assistant, leaning into every pet, and claiming the napping spot closest to whoever loves her most. She’s also got a sweet little morning ritual: daily good morning kisses to start the day off right. When she’s not busy being your shadow, you can find her sprawled out in a sunny spot, soaking up every ray she can find. If cuddling and sunbathing were Olympic sports, Molly would be going for gold in both.

Molly’s a bit shy when she first meets someone new, giving new people a cautious “who are you and can I trust you yet” once over. But stick around and earn her trust, and you’ll get a full-blown snuggle bug who adores you. She’s already a crate training champ and is making excellent house-training progress, with no accidents in the last 5 days and improving daily (and shes only been in her foster home for 10 days!).

Molly came from Oklahoma where she was free range so the fact that she has turned into a total leash walking pro within a week is epic! During quiet early mornings and late nights, she genuinely lights up outdoors, happily trotting along on scenic hikes and taking in the views like a natural. Busy, noisy environments are still something she’s working on but give her some open space and fresh air and she’s in her element.

Molly loves playing with other dogs, so a four-legged sibling or regular dog bestie playmate would help give her confidence and make her whole world complete! She’s just a pint-sized pooch at 25# so she’s a perfect match for smaller or mid-sized dog friends. She might be overwhelmed by larger dogs at first, but a gentle big dog could easily earn her trust.

Molly has been spayed, vaccinated, microchipped and heartworm tested. She is ready to jump right on to her forever family and wrap them around her little tootsies.

Molly is located in Portland, OR. If you’re considering applying to adopt her but you don’t live in the Portland area, don’t worry, we have volunteers who will happily help transport her to a perfect home anywhere in the PNW.

If you are interested in adopting Molly, please fill out the application on our website at: https://www.westernaustralianshepherdrescue.com/adoption-application.html.

We only schedule meet n greets after a completed application which includes a home visit and reference checks.
