Molly's Story

Molly is ready to find a home of her own! She needed some time in foster care to get a dental, lump removal and heal up from some pretty notable allergies.
Molly turned 11 in August however don’t let her age fool you as she is 11 lbs of feisty hilarity. Our best guess is that she is a shih tzu x pug x yorkie?. She is non shedding with a pug personality and build, in a pint sized package.

Molly is very well behaved at home and would be an excellent apartment dog as she is quiet at home and does not have separation anxiety. Molly LOVES going for walks and also loves to tell off dogs who are a block away (all terrier personality). Luckily she is also very treat motivated so we are working on this. She is not dog social on leash, but can totally live with other dogs and actually really likes the company of other dogs (she likes to play too!). Molly also seems to be cat friendly. She would like to live in a home without small children as she will let humans know her boundaries when it comes to being handled.

We did allergy testing and Molly has food allergies to chicken, beef, turkey, dairy products, flax seeds and pinto beans. Right was raw fed and loved it, but now has been successfully switched to a kibble that fits her dietary restrictions. She is currently on allergy pills and we are hoping she will no longer need these once her skin heals a bit more (there is a chance she will need longer term allergy meds). She will need an adoptive home that is mindful of her allergies- luckily she loves all food and happily has veggies, fruit, fish and lamb as treats! Her current obsession is finding all the ripe kiwis in the garden before her foster parent gets to them- every morning they race to the kiwi vine to see who finds the fallen kiwis first… Molly typically wins!

Molly’s ideal home would be an adult only home that loves to go on walks and car rides, and would fancy a dog who loves love but isn’t super needy.
Thank you SO much to Paws for Hope for the grant to cover Molly's Dental and some of her other medical costs too! You can see their great work here: https://www.pawsforhope.org/
