Mochi's Story
Hi, Im Mochi! Im officially in my Glow-Up Era.

In my previous life, I was used to having lots of babies. I didnt get the care or the snacks I deserved, and when I was surrendered to the shelter, I was skin and bones with a cherry eye, itchy skin, and bloody feet. Not a pretty picture, I know! But don't you worryI am loving my new life of luxury! My CEBR family is fixing me up so I can start my Glow-Up Era with a bangAnd let me tell you, Mommas got her curves back!!!

Just like mochi, I'm soft, squishy, and super sticky! Once I love you, Im stuck like glue. I'm also a treat to look forward to. I can't wait to play, wiggle around, and be your best friend. Separation can make me anxious, but I do better in places I know and when I've had some time to adjust. I'm also starting on some new medication that will hopefully make things a little easier for me, but I'm always going to need a little time to adapt to new situations. I just like things as I like them. Stress can occasionally also lead to nighttime accidents. I'm super particular about having a soft blanket in my bed at night, but if I get anxious and have an accident, Ill push the blanket away and bark to let you know I need a clean oneI feel bad when it happens, and I'm really sorry! This does not happen very often at all, just FYI.

Earning My Trust - Slow and steady wins the race! - Im sweet as pie and really like meeting new people. I was a recent star attraction at a bulldog rescue event down on Michigan Avenue and was charming all the tourists and people walking by that wanted to meet me. I'm also a big hit at the vet office as I love all the humans. However, trust takes time when you are doing things to me that I don't love. Pets, belly rubs, and general attention are fabulous from anyone; however, I have some spots which I am sensitive about. My face and paws are my two 'no-no' spots right now! (especially after my cherry eye surgery and vet visits), so go slow with me. Once we bond and my stress levels are low, Im happy to work with you on face and paw wipe-downs! My foster family and I have reached a great understanding of how we do this, and we've got our routine. They know when Im up for it, and I accept that it must be done for my own good. They'll show you how we do it, but I will adapt slowly to my new home and routine.

My anatomy and how I breathe - So let's start with I'm a bulldog - are you surprised I struggle? My anatomy is a little special when it comes to my breathing. I sound a gurgly and congested at certain times of day or after doing things - think of it kind of like asthma or a wet cough but don't worry, my breath count is ok, and I am not in distress! Thats just my baseline right now, and between great doctors and some of the meds we are trying, we found a way to get me stable and ready to find my new home. The rescue has taken great care of me.

Are you ready for my silliness and charming wiggles?

Xoxo Mochi

Please visit our website www.ebullymatch.com to learn more about this amazing pet and to see other available dogs.
