Moana's Story

Meet Moana

English Bulldog • Approximately 4 years old

After a Lifetime of Giving, It's Finally Her Turn to Be Loved.

Sweet Moana has spent far too much of her life being used instead of being loved. This beautiful English Bulldog, with her unforgettable blue eye, was used for breeding before eventually being discarded and left to fend for herself on the streets of Los Angeles.

As if that weren't heartbreaking enough, Moana ended up in an overcrowded, high-kill shelter, where she found herself on the euthanasia list. She was just hours away from losing her life, not because she had done anything wrong, but simply because the shelter had run out of space.

Thankfully, Moana got her second chance. And now, after everything she's been through, we want nothing more than to see her spend the rest of her life being someone's cherished companion instead of being treated as disposable.

Moana is an incredibly sweet, easygoing English Bulldog with a lovely personality. She's quiet, enjoys car rides, and is just an all-around wonderful girl who deserves a comfortable home, a soft place to sleep, and a family who will love her unconditionally.

She's a big, beautiful girl who is currently working on shedding a few extra pounds so she can be her happiest, healthiest self.

As for her ideal home, we want to make sure Moana finds a family where she can truly thrive. While she has not displayed aggression toward other dogs during her time in rescue, a previous adoption unfortunately didn't work out after she was introduced to multiple unfamiliar dogs immediately upon arriving in her new home, without the gradual introductions and adjustment period that dogs need.

Because of this experience, we feel Moana would be happiest as an only dog, where she can soak up all the love and attention, or potentially in a home with another dog larger than herself, provided introductions are handled slowly and thoughtfully. We simply want to give her every opportunity to succeed and make sure her next home is her forever home.

Moana has already been through more than any dog should have to endure. She's been used, abandoned, and nearly lost her life. But despite it all, she's still such a sweet girl with so much love left to give.

For once in her life, Moana deserves to be the one who is taken care of. No more breeding. No more being discarded. No more wondering where she belongs.

Just love, comfort, security, and a family who will never give up on her.

Could you be the happy ending this beautiful girl has been waiting for?

Misfit Manor Rescue & Sanctuary – Ione, California

www.misfitmanor.org

Veterinary and landlord references may be verified, and meet-and-greets with household members and resident animals may be required. Adoptions are based on the best long-term match rather than first-come, first-served. Known medical, behavioral, and special-care needs are fully disclosed before placement. Approved adopters sign an adoption agreement requiring appropriate veterinary care, safe housing, and humane treatment. Animals may not be sold, transferred, or given away.
