MJ's Story
8 months, 25lbs
Altered and vaccinated

Meet MJ, a 8-month-old, 25-pound ball of sweet, loving energy who is brand new to city life and absolutely thriving in it. She greets every person and dog she meets with curiosity and enthusiasm — nose first, tail going, ready to make a friend — and she's just as happy at the dog park running wild as she is curled up for post-adventure cuddles. She's crate trained and potty trained! She's learning leash manners and city rhythms a little more every day. She's also working through classic puppy stuff — teething, chewing, the occasional case of the zoomies — so she's not a finished product, but she's a joyful, loving one!!

MJ's days are active ones: three to four walks or dog park visits spread throughout the day, with crate breaks in between to decompress and reset, bully sticks and chew toys to keep her busy, and fetch sessions whenever possible — tennis balls are a personal favorite. She's free-fed kibble and does well with mental enrichment toys to burn off some of that busy puppy brain energy. She can handle being crated for up to four to five hours but generally does best with shorter stretches and regular check-ins. Her ideal home is a moderate to active household — ideally a younger couple or a home with more than one person and a flexible enough schedule to keep up with her exercise needs. If you have the time, the energy, and the patience for a puppy who is still figuring out the world, MJ will reward you with endless affection and enthusiasm every single day.

INTERESTED IN ADOPTING MJ?

Here's how:

1. Fill out the application at www.truenorthrescue.org/adopt
2. Then email adopt@truenorthrescue.org to follow up

Please note: Were an all-volunteer rescue with a high volume of applications, so we aren't able to reply to each one personally. The applications that stand out give us a clear picture of your home and the life you'd give a dog: your household, your daily routine, your experience with dogs, and how you'll care for a new family member. We review applications on a dog-by-dog basis and choose the best fit for each one. Thank you for considering a True North rescue.
