Missandei is an 8-year-old harlequin female Great Dane, and she is a victim of circumstance. Missandei’s owners had to move to another country to care for their family member and were unable to take Missandei along. On the HBO Series, Game of Thrones, Missandei was the character that started out in a family home but was captured and sold as a slave then suffered a string of tough circumstances. Her talent for languages gave her the opportunity to be an interpreter for slave masters and she ultimately was freed by her master. She had quite a story and there are some parallels for our Missandei. We are hoping that her talents of potty training, leash walking, hanging out in a crate, and understanding human language for many commands and tricks will gain her the freedom that a new forever home could offer. Missandei has aged in a life with time spent lounging on furniture and living indoors. She is not interested in digging in the yard and chews on bones but not on things she isn’t supposed to like slippers…. She likes other calm dogs and cats but takes some time to warm up to rowdy high energy dogs. She has lived with older children and really enjoys a spin around the neighborhood in a horseless chariot. Missandei does have some allergies to poultry and would need food with an alternative protein.
