Miso's Story

Small, sweet, and subdued, "Miso" the Shih Tzu is all about the quiet lifestyle. Estimated to be about 10-11 years old and 11 pounds. Slow is his main speed. As an older gentleman, what he loves most is a comfy bed and company.

His favorite pastimes include rolling in the grass and getting attention. He is house-trained, though frequent breaks are recommended due to his age.

Already have a dog? Good news! Miso is very friendly with other gentle, well-mannered dogs. He is also good for grooming and even dozed off during his first haircut.

There are no children in the foster home, but Miso is a gentle soul, so older children/teens (respectful of his space and elderly needs) would likely be okay. The noise and the chaos of younger kids are not the vibe Miso is looking for.

We are starting to suspect that he may be losing his hearing (which comes with age), which doesn't impact his day-to-day. He's just a very sound sleeper!

Miso's perfect home:
**quiet, calm, with lower activity levels
**ready to help with accessibility assistance (low-rimmed bowls, soft food & treats, ramps, stroller for longer outings to support this aging fellow)
**Patience for an older dog and love to give him

Miso is a wonderful reminder that senior dogs still have lots of love to give. He's looking for a soft place to land and someone to share his golden years with!
