Meet Miracle

Update:

Would anyone believe that Miracle was once a dog who who had every bone in her back broken and was told she’d never walk again??? Just two months ago that’s exactly what we were dealing with. Look at her go now! She’s truly a miracle every day. I was finally able to get her spayed and now she’s ready to go. And I mean ready to go and go and go! She’s the energizer bunny unless she’s in your lap then she’s total mushy love kissy face neck hugging make you feel like you won the lottery kind of love! Omg this will be the hardest dog I’ve ever fostered to let go of but I know I must. It’s her time and she deserves her own people. The busyness of constant dogs coming in and the time constraints of caring for them all plus our own personal 11 dogs, 6 of whom I hand feed due to age, is a balancing act every day. So here’s Miracles perfect home situation. She loves people all people all kids, she adores my grandkids and squeals when she hears they’ve entered the house. She gets so excited she’s flipping all over them. She is super alert and will bark at movement and strangers inside or outside your home. That’s probably her worst attribute. She’s housebroken if taken out on schedule. Occasionally if she’s loose in my house for longer periods of time I might find a little deposit on a rug. That has gotten better as her hind end has gotten stronger though. If confined to a laundry room for naps or night though she’s perfect. She can now leap up on and off the sofa like a goat and loves doing zoomies with a squeaky toy hanging out of mouth and can do that for hours. She’s smart as a whip. She’s fast as lightning and is a door darter extraordinaire! I mean you’ll think you’ve blocked her as you scoot out and nope there she is right in front of you ready for the next adventure. FENCED yard required no exceptions! She’ll shag a deer and you’ll be looking for her in the next county! She lives here with dogs and cats and sleeps always with another dog in her bed so at first I thought she was too jealous and wanted to be an only but over time she seems to really want a snuggle buddy but it’s got to be the right one. The ones she chooses seem to be calm old dogs that she doesn’t have to vie for attention with. If she’s an only then you’ll have to be her constant companion as she doesn’t like being left out of the fun. She’s great in the car and in public. Because of her previous injuries though I’ve never leash trained her but I’m sure harnessing her up now to walk she’ll get the hang of it quickly. Her fur is like silk and I could pet it all day. Miracle is about a year old and weighs 7lbs. I truly would love if this dog were adopted to someone I know or a previous adopter or lives close by. Please apply for Miracle at www.peanutsplacerescue.org and get a little slice of heaven on earth.

Just a little update on Miracle also. So we sent off the rads to both my orthopedic vet and CARE. In coordination with both we are scheduled for neurology consult on Monday. I’ve discussed extensively with both parties though and unfortunately she has no deep pain centers in her toes and this is a bad sign. She might be a wheelchair dog for life with or without surgery. But oh is she precious! Not a peep and took the whole trip with us today on my lap to pick up the 18 new dogs!

When it rains it pours. Someone several counties away found this baby in the middle of the road. She appeared hit by a car and couldn’t move. After contacting 15 rescues, she found us and we immediately said YES bring her asap. This precious girl they named Miracle definitely needs one. My hubby sat with her all night watching “Groundhog Day” for the hundredth time! So after dropping off Luna for her spay surgery this morning, then dropped Miracle at our regular vet for X-rays. Sadly broken pelvis. And the poor baby is in heat. I’ve sent the X-rays off to my orthopedic surgeon to see if this is repairable, how much and how soon can he fit us in. Please pray for swift action on her surgery. She’s such a sweetheart and deserves the best.
