MIRABELLE's Story
MIRABELLE

www.youluckydogrescue.org - Adoption Application can be found on this website.

Meet Mira!

Mira is an 11-month-old female Flat-Coated Retriever mix weighing about 55 pounds—and she’s a total lovebug. If you’re looking for a dog who adores her people and lives for cuddles, Mira may be your perfect match. Her favorite place is as close to you as possible, and she’s always happy to climb into a lap or soak up gentle pets.

Mira does great with other dogs and currently lives with two foster siblings: a large female Lab and a small senior terrier. She especially enjoys playing with friendly dogs her own size and would thrive in a home with a fenced yard, where she can safely run, play fetch, and keep an eye out for squirrels, birds, and any “suspicious” sticks that may appear.

She walks nicely on a leash, though she can be a bit timid in new or unfamiliar situations. A secure, proper-fitting collar is important to help keep her feeling safe. Mira may be shy when meeting new people, but once she feels comfortable, she warms up quickly and shows her sweet, affectionate personality.

At night, Mira sleeps perfectly in a crate in her foster’s room. When left home alone, she does best outside of a crate due to separation anxiety—baby gates in a hallway have worked wonderfully. She settles calmly, chews on a bone, and waits patiently by the door with no accidents. She is doing well with potty training and just needs consistent, frequent trips outside.

Fun facts about Mira:
• She’s smart and loves hiding bones and toys in the most creative places—then checking on her “treasures” throughout the day
• She has a gorgeous, soft, long wavy black coat with touches of brown and white
• Her adorable “Grinch feet” with feathery toes are truly irresistible

Mira is still working on polite greetings and can jump up when she’s excited to say hello. She can be a bit sensitive around lots of fast movement or noise, so she would be happiest in a home with calm, dog-savvy children ages 12 and older, and without small children or elderly family members, while she continues building confidence and polishing her manners.

Mira is sweet, playful, cuddly, and full of personality. With a little patience and love, she will make a wonderful and devoted family companion.

For more information on our adoption process, please visit our website at www.youluckydogrescue.org and read our Adoption FAQ's and Before You Adopt documents. You can complete an online adoption application from our website. You can also email info@youluckydogrescue.org for additional details that are not included in this biography.

PRIVATE MEET & GREETS: Submitting an adoption application is required before a private meet & greet will be scheduled. We will complete a pre-screening first to make sure that the dog you are interested in is a good fit for you. That way, we don't unnecessarily waste your time or the foster's time.

Our adoption fee is $300 and includes all age appropriate vaccines, spay or neuter and microchipping. All of our rescue dogs are heart worm tested annually beginning at 9 months of age, and they are kept on monthly heart worm and flea preventatives.

The breed and age included in this listing is based upon the opinion of a vet that has examined the dog. We cannot confirm the age of the dog unless the dog was born in the care of the rescue.

We are located in the metro Atlanta area. We currently do not allow out of state adoptions as a home check is required as part of the adoption process.
