Milo's Story

Milo is a 2-3yr old Siberian Husky • 45 lbs (working on gaining ~5 lbs)🐾💙
Hey hey… Milo here 💙
Your future best friend, adventure buddy, and professional cuddle expert reporting for duty.

I’m the kind of guy who’s down for anything — wanna hit the trails? I’m already at the door. Wanna stay in and binge a show? Cool, I’ll be right next to you soaking up belly rubs like it’s my full-time job.

I’ve got what they call ✨range✨ — equal parts silly, sweet, and smart. One minute I’m making you laugh with my goofy antics, the next I’m giving you those soft, “I love you” eyes… and the next? I’ve already learned something new because I’m super smart and VERY treat motivated (seriously… snacks = instant A+ student).

I love being out and about — walks, fresh air, new smells… it’s my thing. I’d thrive in an active home that wants a built-in sidekick for all of life’s adventures 🏞️🐕

Oh — and plot twist — I’ve got the husky good looks without all the nonstop talking. I’m more of a “strong, silent, handsome type” 😉

I’m great with other dogs and would love a buddy, but I’d also be perfectly happy being your one-and-only and soaking up all your love ❤️

💫 Why you’ll love me:
🐶 Dog-friendly
🚶‍♂️ Adventure-ready
🧠 Super smart + treat motivated
😜 Equal parts silly, sweet & smart
💤 Not overly vocal
❤️ Extremely affectionate

If you’ve been looking for a loyal, loving, ridiculously handsome best friend… I think we should meet 🐾💫. Long Road Home's Adoption Policy
Where do we get our dogs? Majority of our dogs come from high kill shelters. Some are owner surrender or strays. All of the dogs that come into our rescue have been in high emergency situations where they would not be wagging their tails. We work with a lot of shelters in the south as well as on long island. We have wonderful people who dedicate their time to the dogs and transport them into our long island foster homes. What happens to the dog after we accept it into the program? All of the dogs first go to see a vet. Once they receive a clean bill of health the go into a home. We normally give each dog at least a week in a home with qualified trainer before we place the dog into a foster. We really like to have the dogs house broken and to have at least started basic obedience training. After the trainer we place the dog into its new foster home until it finds its forever home.
