Milo's Story
Hi there, I’m Milo, and yes — that’s my teddy bear. He’s my new best friend...I’m discovering stuffies are fun. I’m a 6 year old buff Cocker Spaniel weighing in at a handsome 30 pounds, with golden good looks and a heart full of love. I came to FCCR when my family could no longer provide the veterinary care I needed, but I landed in the most wonderful foster home and I’m thriving.

True story: I broke my leg three months ago (my leg went into a hole) and it was not treated. FCCR had two board certified surgeons and their own vet review the X-rays and while the break is still there, they all agreed it was too late to try and fix it and any effort would be more damaging to my leg. I’ve just learned my own special way of moving through the world. I may have a little limp, but don’t let that fool you — I can run and play and live my absolute best life. I use my broken leg like a crutch and when I run I hold it out straight.

I’m a bit of a shy guy when I first meet new people or other dogs. I need a little time and patience to feel safe, but once I do? I’m ALL in. I love my people deeply and being alone is hard for me right now...I’ll let you know about it with some heartfelt crying. I need a home where I’m not left solo for long stretches, and because of that, condo living isn’t the right fit. It’s something I’m actively working on with my foster mom on and a doggie sibling would really help! I get along great with other dogs especially gentle calm ones and would like one in my forever home.

Here’s what I bring to the table: excellent house manners; I ignore cats and I would do well with older dog-savvy kids. I sleep in the big bed like a perfect gentleman — no drama, no midnight shenanigans. I just wait quietly for my person to wake up before our morning walk. And treats? Yes please. Always yes. Bath time and brushing? Bring it on — I’m a spa day kind of guy. Sadly, I do have those classic cocker ears that need constant attention to avoid infections but I don’t mind the cleanings...I’m an easy-going guy.

If you have room in your heart and your home for a loyal, golden boy who just needs to feel safe and loved, I might be your perfect match.

Apply to adopt me at https://tinyurl.com/FCCRadoptionapp
Adoption fee: $325
