Milo's Story
Meet Milo!

Meet Milo, a handsome 3-year-old Akita weighing in at 90 pounds! This big boy found himself looking for a new home through no fault of his own after being surrendered by his owner. Now, Milo is hoping to find a loving, committed family who understands his breed and can help him thrive.

Milo gets along with other dogs, but he does have some food-guarding tendencies. To help everyone stay safe and comfortable, we recommend that Milo be fed separately from any other dogs in the home. We are also recommending a home with children ages 15 and older due to his large size and food-guarding behavior.

Milo would benefit from leash training to help him become a more confident and enjoyable walking companion. As an Akita, he will need an adopter with experience with his breed who understands their unique needs and is committed to providing consistent training, guidance, and structure.

Milo has so much potential and deserves a family willing to give him the time, patience, and understanding he needs to succeed. If you have Akita experience and are ready to welcome a big, beautiful boy into your life, Milo may be the companion you’ve been waiting for!

Could you be the one to give Milo the second chance he deserves?

Please apply for Milo at https://www.gloucestercountynj.gov/FormCenter/Animal-Shelter-5/PreAdoption-Application-50
