Millie's Story
Meet beautiful 2 year old 25 pound Millie. The second picture is her at the shelter before she was shaved of all those horrible painful mats.

Millie’s DNA showed her as:
70% Miniature Poodle
20% Australian Shepherd (mini)
6% Cocker Spaniel
3% Bichon Frise
1% Chihuahua

So happy we could help this sweetheart get out of the shelter and give her the love and vet care she needs. Millie was in the shelter for a week before she joined us so we know she must feel a huge sense of relief being with us.

Her wellness exam at Roxboro Animal Hospital went well and all looks good aside from her heartworm positive status which we already knew.

She is now spayed and will begin her heartworm treatments on March 10th.

We do want Millie to have a fenced yard as she was found roaming as a stray multiple times by animal control.

Millie is house trained and walks beautifully on a leash. She does well in a car and was just with us on a motorhome trip to Florida as you can see in some of the pics. She is a Velcro dog meaning she LOVES to be next to (or on top of lol) her humans.

Our foster home has other dogs and 4 cats as well. Millie loves everyone and everyone loves Millie!

Millie is available for foster to adopt which we can explain in detail should you be interested.
In a nutshell, you foster her for the rescue while she is undergoing her heartworm treatment and officially adopt once her vet care is complete. Of course we pay for all vet care and anything you need while she is a foster. (Food, toys, bed, crate, etc.) She will need to go to our Durham vet partner for her heartworm treatment injections.

The application to adopt can also be used for foster to adopt. It is on our website VintageRacersForRescues.com.
IMPORTANT: If on a mobile device, please use the TAB BUTTON to get to the submit button.
