Milky Way's Story

Meet Milky Way: The Friendly Floof Looking for a Forever Home!

7 year old, 50lb Milky Way found himself in the shelter in August of 2025 when his owner sadly passed away. Right away volunteers found him to be friendly and social with other dogs. In play groups he was described as gentle, playful, and tolerant of other dogs in the yard. Thanks to a fellow volunteer willing to foster him, Milky Way left the shelter in October.

In his foster home, Milky is just as friendly and social as we knew him to be. He is easy going and friendly with new people and was immediately a joy on leash. He took to potty training very quickly. Milky is working on crate training and his foster is helping to build his confidence being left alone in the crate while working, running errands, etc. He is goofy and affectionate and we’re so glad to see him out of the shelter environment. We would describe Milky Way as medium energy, the perfect age to be content with moderate regular exercise and the occasional adventure. Given his well-adjusted demeanor, Milky Way would be the perfect coffee shop companion!

We believe Milky Way would be a wonderful addition to a home with other dogs and/or kids, but he could also make a great solo companion given continued socialization with dogs and people alike.

What You Should Know About Milky Way:

- A perfect 7 years old, gorgeous two-tone-eyed marshmallow with the sweetest disposition

- Calm, tolerant, well-adjusted, playful, and friendly. What more could you ask for?!

- Would do well as an errand buddy, adventure pal, and/or family dog

To meet Milky Way, please fill out an adoption form on dogcoalitionla.org/adopt and follow @dogcoaltionla for updates!
