Hi, I'm Mika. <br/><br/>I'm only about 8 months old, but I've already learned what it feels like to be left behind.<br/><br/>Someone put me in a tiny crate, drove me out to the middle of nowhere, and left me on the side of a road in the blazing sun. I couldn't run after them. I couldn't understand why they were leaving. All I could do was wait.<br/><br/>Thankfully, someone saw my photo on social media and came for me. They lifted me out of that crate and gave me a chance I might not have had otherwise.<br/><br/>The rescue searched everywhere for my family. I wasn't microchipped. I wasn't spayed. Local shelters were notified, and my face was posted on every lost-and-found page they could find. Days passed. Then weeks.<br/><br/>No one came.<br/><br/>The people who were supposed to love me had already made their choice.<br/><br/>But here's the thing about dogs like me: we don't spend much time feeling sorry for ourselves.<br/><br/>Instead, we keep loving.<br/><br/>So now, when I wake up each morning, my tail still wags. I still get excited for walks. I still carry my toys around proudly. I still make friends with other dogs. I still snuggle up as close as I can because I believe every lap is meant for cuddles.<br/><br/>I'm a sweet, happy, bubbly girl with a gorgeous tricolor coat, a heart full of forgiveness, and so much love left to give.
