Mickey's Story
Meet Mickey!

Mickey is an 8-month-old Rottweiler who came to us as a stray alongside his siblings. When he first arrived, the unfamiliar environment was overwhelming, and Mickey was understandably frightened and shut down. But once he settled into a loving foster home, it didn't take long for his personality to begin shining through!

Mickey is a wonderful example of what a little patience, consistency, and love can do for a dog who is still learning to trust the world around him.

While Mickey has made incredible progress, he's still a young dog who can be flighty and unsure in unfamiliar situations. He may be nervous when meeting new people, and his future family will need to understand that the dog they meet on day one may be very different from the companion they'll come to know once he feels comfortable.

Mickey's ideal family will be patient, confident, and committed to continuing his socialization. Consistency, positive exposure to new experiences, and gently encouraging him outside his comfort zone will be essential to helping him grow into a confident, well-adjusted adult.

A fenced yard where he can safely run and play would be wonderful, and another friendly, confident dog could be a great companion for him.

Mickey doesn't need a family who will shelter him from every new experience. He needs one who will help him navigate those experiences safely, celebrate his progress, and give him the opportunity to discover just how brave he can be.

Underneath that initial uncertainty is a wonderful companion just waiting for someone to give him a chance.

ADOPTION PROCESS
1.
