MI' AMORE

Meet Mi Amore - <br/>Mi Amore’s name means “my love,” and despite the terrible start she’s had in life, her heart is still so full of it.<br/>When we found her on the side of the road, she could barely stand. She had an old, open wound on her back, and her stomach was so distended we were certain she had to be pregnant. We rushed her straight to the vet, where she finally got the care she desperately needed.<br/>She wasn’t pregnant — her swollen belly was the result of heavy parasites, and we also learned she is heartworm positive. Since then, she’s been placed on a careful, slow feeding schedule and started on medication to treat both conditions. She is officially on the road to recovery.<br/>Through all of this, Mi Amore has remained incredibly sweet and gentle. She leans into soft touches, accepts care with quiet trust, and shows us every day just how resilient she truly is.<br/>It’s still too soon to know how she does with other dogs. Once she has fully recovered and regained her strength, we will dog test her to learn more.<br/>Right now, what Mi Amore needs most is hope — and a family willing to give her the second chance she so deeply deserves.
