Merida in SC - Sweet & Playful Pocket Pyr's Story

Meet Merida, our honey-colored treasure! This petite Great Pyrenees has all the sweetness and charm of the breed wrapped up in a smaller, more portable package. Found as a stray in Georgia, Merida is a happy, affectionate girl who makes everyone smile. With her constantly wagging tail, sunny disposition, and love for people and dogs alike, she is truly the sweetest dog you’ll ever meet! Her beautiful honey-gold coat is soft, thick, and shorter than a typical Pyr’s, giving her a look that is as lovely as her personality. Best of all, she doesn’t seem to shed much!

Merida is friendly, gentle, playful, and wonderfully easygoing. She loves meeting new people and quickly becomes everyone’s favorite, whether she’s greeting visitors, charming the neighborhood kids, or enjoying time with her humans. She gets along beautifully with children and cats, and she absolutely adores other dogs! She has happily lived with a group of up to 6 dogs and loves nothing more than romping and playing with canine friends. When playtime is over, she’s just as happy snuggling up with her people for some cuddles or settling in with a favorite bone or antler. Cheese and scrambled eggs are also high on her list of favorite treats!

Merida has a high activity level and will enjoy an active family that can give her plenty of opportunities to play, explore, and grow. She is already housebroken, leash trained, and crate trained, with polite house manners and an eager-to-please attitude that make her a joy to have around. She has an average Pyr bark, and will let you know when unfamiliar cars or people approach, making her a thoughtful little watchdog without being overly vocal.

Merida’s ideal home will have at least one playful canine companion, and a 4-foot fenced yard where she can enjoy the outdoors. Her smaller size, sweet temperament, friendly nature, and happy-go-lucky spirit make her a truly special find. If you’ve always loved Great Pyrenees but dreamed of a smaller version who can fit comfortably into your home and adventures, Merida may be your perfect match. She’s ready to fill her forever home with wagging tails, warm cuddles, joyful play, and plenty of love!

NYS Registered Rescue # RR102
NGPR dogs are in foster homes at the location specified on their full listing. For puppies under six months old, the applicants ability to socialize the puppy with older dogs is a priority.

Secure VISIBLE fencing is required; invisible fencing WILL NOT contain this breed.
