Menopaws (NOT YET AVAILABLE)'s Story
Please read the pet description IN IT'S ENTIRETY before applying. Thank you for your cooperation.
NOT YET TAKING APPLICATIONS – NOT YET AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION

NEW INTAKE 6/3/2026: Menopaws - female - 6 years old - 11.8 pounds - Shih Tzu

Reason for intake: Menopaws came to us from animal control. She was an owner-surrender stating they could not care for her because she's "spicy". She was yeasty and covered in fleas and horribly matted. I sat with her for a little at the shelter for a little bit while she was in her wire kennel. When I opened the kennel to remove something, she went to try to come out. I retrieved the item and then closed the door and she cried. That was all it took. This "spicy" girl just hasn't had a home to take care of her. We'll assess her more as the days pass. We texted our groomer to see if she'd be willing to try to groom and of course, she said "yes". We'll know more about how she did there as well. During the intake at animal control and during our intake, the only time she had an issue was when we tried to look at her teeth... so we are definitely going to have our vet check that out. She didn't have an issue with microchipping or shots or anything else. She'll be heading to the vet the week of 6/8/2026, for spaying and whatever else she needs so stay tuned!

NOT TAKING APPLICATIONS: Many dogs, particularly breeder, hoarder or senior dogs, can have multiple medical issues that need addressed. Additionally, sometimes we take in young puppies requiring multiple vaccinations and/or quarantining. In this particular case, we are not yet taking applications either due to age or possible illness or some other reason. We will post when s(he) is ready for adoption. In the interest of fairness, EARLY application submissions will NOT be considered. Please note... we cannot respond to messages/emails, etc., on dogs that are NOT yet available for adoption. Please wait until the dog is available for adoption. We will post him or her on Facebook in our Adoptable Dog Album pinned to the top of our page which you can follow at this link: https://www.facebook.com/share/1B46skRWF5/ OR you can keep checking our website at www.roadtorescuela.org. We appreciate your cooperation and understanding.

“The greatness of a nation and its moral progress can be judged by the way its animals are treated.” ~ Gandhi

Be responsible ~ Always spay/neuter, keep your dogs on heartworm prevention, vaccinate against disease... and if you bring a pet into your life, commit to that pet for life. Blessings.
