Mendy's Story

This plucky little guy will get you with his puppy dog eyes. We believe he is a mix of mini Schnauzer and Westie. At about 10 months old, he weighs 18 pounds and should max out at 20 pounds. Mendy loves all humans and doesn't believe in personal space, however he does not seem to be fond of most other dogs. (Every now and then he meets a friend). Mendy is already neutered and up to date on vaccinations and heartworm testing. He loves to fetch, hoard squeaky toys, and attempt to fly by jumping off the back of the couch. He ADORES children and impersonating Ewoks.

Mendy has had surgery to fix a congenital condition (Legg-Calves-Perthes Disease) causing pain in his rear leg and making it difficult for him to walk (which is perhaps why he was trying to fly). He is now doing physical therapy and is doing great. Other than a small occasional limp, you would never know that there was ever an issue. He loves to run and would like a family that will be active with him. Mostly housebroken, but not perfect yet.

Applications for Mendy can be found at www.chesed-rescue.org/adoptions. We background and vet check all applicants and are looking for stable homes.
