Meet Memphis! At 9 years old, Memphis is proof that age is just a number! This handsome basset has overcome a rough start and is now healthy, happy, and ready to find the forever home he truly deserves. When Memphis first came to Suncoast Basset Rescue, he was significantly underweight after spending much of his time living outdoors. During his initial veterinary workup, we discovered he had a pretty significant urinary tract infection that required several weeks of antibiotics to completely clear. Once his infection was treated, Memphis absolutely blossomed! He's gained over 10 pounds, is back to excellent health, and has plenty of energy and life ahead of him. Memphis is an active boy who loves spending time outdoors. Whether he's exploring a securely fenced yard, sniffing every interesting scent he can find, or heading out for a nice walk with his people, he's happiest when he has the chance to stretch his legs and enjoy the world around him. Because of his love of exploring, a fenced yard is recommended. More than anything, Memphis loves his people. He would thrive in a home where someone is around more often than not, as he enjoys companionship and being part of the family. While he gets along well with other dogs, we think Memphis would secretly love being the center of attention as an only dog, soaking up all the love for himself. After everything he's been through, Memphis is ready to leave his past behind and spend his golden years being loved, spoiled, and cherished.
