Meeska's Story

Meet Meeshka,

Meeshka is a 6 month-old Aussie/Kelpie mix with a tender heart and a very gentle spirit. She came to rescue from a California shelter with her littermates after having little early socialization, and she is still learning that people and the world around her are safe.
She is extremely shy with humans and will need a patient adopter who understands fearful puppies. While she’s not comfortable being touched yet, she is making steady progress, she enjoys treats, toys, and has begun to relax and play with her foster dog siblings, wagging her tail and showing her playful side.
Meeshka takes great comfort in other dogs and will need a confident, friendly mentor dog in her future home. She may growl at unfamiliar dogs at first, but once she feels safe, she does well with calm canine companions. She has also learned to coexist with a cat after a slow introduction.
The outside world can be scary for her, especially unfamiliar noises, but she is starting to venture outdoors by following her foster dogs. She is mostly using potty pads and is continuing to work on house training with consistency and patience.
Meeshka would thrive in a quiet, low traffic home with minimal visitors and an adopter who is willing to go slow and celebrate small wins. With time, routine, and gentle guidance, she has so much potential to form a deep and meaningful bond with her person.
If you’re looking to give a special dog the time she needs to feel safe and loved, Meeshka may be the perfect fit.

Submit an application at Hdrescueoregon.com. $400 adoption fee.
