Meekah's Story

Meet Meekah!

Meekah is a teeny 10-year-old, 6 lb sweetheart who came to us from a Houston shelter, where she was at risk of euthanasia. She entered the shelter as a stray with a large mammary mass, but thankfully, her veterinary team was able to successfully remove it and stitch her up without any complications.

Meekah is sweet, gentle, and has the cutest personality. She likes knowing her people are nearby and prefers to stay in the same room as them, but she does not always need to be right beside you or curled up in your lap. She is perfectly content relaxing in her own cozy spot while keeping an eye on everything going on around her.

She does well with small and medium-sized dogs and is also good with cats. Large dogs can be a little overwhelming for her, so she would be happiest in a home without them.

Meekah seems to become anxious when left completely alone, but she does wonderfully when she has another dog nearby. Because of this, she would do best in a home with a calm canine companion who can help her feel safe and secure when her people are away.

After everything Meekah has been through, she is ready for a peaceful home where she can feel safe, loved, and never alone again. Could this tiny girl be the missing piece in your family? šŸ”šŸ’•

To apply to have your home considered for adoption, read about our adoption process or fees, and find out about interstate transport, please visit our website at https://longwayhome.org/adopt.

ā¤
Long Way Home makes no guarantees on breed--most animals we receive from shelters are mixed breeds.
