Meatloaf's Story

Meatloaf is a sweet little boy with a big personality and an even bigger heart! This happy, cuddly guy loves his humans and would be happiest in a home where someone is around most of the day. He's perfectly content hanging out on the bed next to his person while they work, snoozing, playing with his toys, or just soaking up all the attention. He's a social butterfly who is eager to greet new friends, eager to please, and always ready to learn!

Meatloaf loves naps and playtime equally and thinks toys and food are equally wonderful. He's active and playful when it's time for fun, but he's also a total couch potato who knows how to relax. Meatloaf has a strong personality and definitely likes to be the boss, but he's also a smart, quick learner who is food motivated and eager to please. He loves human company and doesn't enjoy being alone, so a home where someone is around often would be ideal. He has been good with the young children he's met, although he hasn't spent extended time with them yet. He's also done well with cats overall, though some continued training would be helpful if there are cats in his forever home. Meatloaf does wonderfully with other dogs and enjoys having canine companions around, but he truly prefers the company of his humans.

Meatloaf is already an A+ house-training student and is continuing to work on his crate training. If you're looking for a sweet, social, cuddly companion who will happily be your little shadow, Meatloaf might just be your perfect match!

Quick stats!
--Dogs: does great with other dogs in the home
--Cats: mostly positive interactions; some training may be helpful
--Children: depends on the children and would do best with a slow introduction, but has gotten along well with younger children
--Likes: cozy naps, tasty treats, cuddling on the couch, attention from his humans, relaxing, and spending time with his people

If Meatloaf sounds like the right fit for your home, fill out an adoption application today! muttsofthemidway.org/adopt

Mutts of the Midway's Adoption Policy
Thank you for choosing to adopt and your interest in Mutts of the Midway. Once there is an interest in a dog, our adoption application is completed with that dog noted. The application is vetted and two personal references and one veterinarian reference are checked. If approved, a meet and greet is set-up with all family members (including children and other dogs) and the adoptable dog. If the adopter and foster family agree it is a good fit, the adoption contract is completed and the adoption fee ($350 for a dog 6 months and younger, $300 for a dog older than 6 months) is paid. Finally the pick-up of the new family member is arranged! All applications are processed in the order they are received and we strive to find the best home for each of our dogs. All adopted animals will go into their forever home current on vaccines, microchipped, spay/neutered, heartworm preventative and given a health exam.
