Mckees #5267's Story
HI, I'M MICKEY—AND I'M READY TO BE YOUR SHADOW!

Meet McKees, affectionately known as Mickey! This adorable 3-to-5-year-old Aussie recently traveled from Pennsylvania to his foster home in New Hampshire, where he's waiting for his forever family.

Mickey's dream job is Professional Velcro Dog! He craves attention, reassurance, and praise and would happily spend every day glued to his person's side. Look into his eyes, and that fluffy butt starts wiggling!

Mickey loves:

Car rides—open a door and he's ready to go!
Running through the yard or fields, as long as his person is nearby
Brushing, combing, and being towel-dried
Relaxing quietly indoors
Working for treats—he already knows “sit,” “paw,” and “come”

Mickey isn't a big indoor barker. When he wants attention, he'll gently rest his head on you and offer a soft little whine.

Like all of us, Mickey has a few quirks. He can become jealous when another dog receives attention and likes being the boss. If he shares his home with another dog, he should be fed separately in a quiet area.

No cats, please—Mickey wants to chase them. He may also bark at horses and cows, but his foster mom is helping him become more comfortable around them, and he's learning quickly.

Mickey is currently slimming down and is less itchy since switching to lamb-and-rice kibble. His vet also recommends a routine dental cleaning in the future to keep that handsome smile sparkling.

If you're looking for a sweet, loyal companion who will never let you feel lonely, Mickey may be your perfect match!

Apply to adopt Mickey through Australian Shepherds Furever:
https://www.australianshepherdsfurever.org/adoption-application

There are some additional fees: $20 microchip transfer fee to register and transfer him to his new furever family.
