Meet McJoo

McJoo is likely a senior jindo mix, estimated to be 7-8yo. He was rescued from the Orange County Animal Care in California in mid-July after being picked up as a stray in early June. His intake weight at the shelter was 53 lb, but he weighed 43.8 lb at his first vet visit. Unfortunately, this sweet boy had giardia (now cleared!) and was highly stressed in the shelter environment, losing almost 10 pounds in 5 weeks. Over the course of 4 weeks and with a lot of dedication, his initial fosters have helped him regain most of his weight!

McJoo is an affectionate doggo who wants to know where you are and be close to you. We strongly believe that Hobak once had a family although he came in as a stray. He cuddles on the couch, buries his head in your legs, takes treats so gently, and plays with toys. Hobak happily self-entertains with squeaker toys and tennis balls, and he is talented at catching toys in the air. Due to some resource-guarding, he would do best in a home without small/young children.

He does well around other larger dogs, but we would not recommend he be rehomed with smaller animals.
He has shown some anxieties when apart from his carers (vocalizations) but we are helping him to learn to be more self-sufficient.
