Best Guess for Age: 5 months as of March 2024 SEX: Male

Estimated Weight (puppies' weights change quickly!): 28lbs as of 4/14

Gets Along With: Most puppies are in the prime of their socialization window and will do well with other dogs, cats and kids so long as they receive patience and proper training.

Currently Living at: DC area foster home

Special Adoption Considerations: Puppies under 6 months of age need to have multiple potty breaks/exercise throughout the day. Potential adopters with a standard 8-hour workday must be willing to make arrangements to meet the needs of their puppy. When Maynard arrived from the shelter, he was pretty reserved in the hustle and bustle of city life. He has been making great strides in foster care! We think Maynard would do best in a home that either has a resident dog or who can make sure Maynard has lots of opportunities to go on walks regularly with other dogs or visit dog parks and/or doggie daycare with other dogs to build confidence.
Maynard is Looking For: Hiya! I'm Maynard! Me and my littermates, Milwaukee, Macon, and Mallory, have loved our time in the puppy pile, but we are each ready to pack our bags and find our very own forever home! I'm looking for a home that will let me play with toys and get my puppy zoomies out and give me snuggles in between playtimes. I can't wait to explore my new neighborhood on lots of walks, and I'd really like to make a bunch of doggie friends along the way. Oh, and I should probably take a puppy obedience class or two so I can show you how smart I am. What do you say? Do you have room in your heart for me?
What My Foster Says About Me: Maynard is a sweet, snuggly boy who is coming out of his shell! He likes to observe first when he's in new situations, in his safe place or with his person, before he jumps into the action. After just 72 hours, he's already starting to feel more confident. He even braved going up and down the front porch steps for the first time- the inside stairs are another story, but we're making progress! He is doing well with house training, so long as he's let out regularly during the day. He even sleeps 8 hours overnight! Maynard rides well in the car and is really starting to like exploring outside. He's also learning how to play with the toys in his foster home. He can play by himself during work meetings, but he loves when you join in on the fun! After, he loves to snuggle up with his blankets or person for a snooze. He has the cutest little snores. Maynard is the goodest boy around and is looking for someone who will help him be brave, at his own pace, in all kinds of new situations. His calm yet playful personality, his sweet demeanor, and his cute as a button face will melt every heart!
Your new puppy will need to work on their house training and will also need to go to obedience school so they can grow into a well-socialized dog! TO ADOPT: The adoption fee for this puppy is $485, which includes the cost of routine vetting and transport from the shelter.
